The etmoidal sinus is the most important anatomical and functional structure of the paranasal sinuses, making ethmoidectomy the most relevant act in the surgical treatment of chronic rhinosinusitis. Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery (FESS) and the more radical techniques currently used are similar and always performed by centrifugal resection, removing cell after cell from the complex and variable anatomy of the ethmoid sinus. This work demonstrates the Centripetal Technique, which completely changes the concept of consecutive cell resection to a new concept of primary dissection of the boundaries of the ethmoid sinus, reducing risks and improving results. It is aimed at otorhinolaryngologists, from beginners to the most experienced, presenting a technique that has been used, refined, and taught by the Felippu Institute for over 40 years.
